Crack Open A Fierce One With The PB's Debut Single Anicone
The PB's are a riotously good, brand spankin' new four piece out of Brisbane arriving on the scene with debut single Anicone just last week. I just need to tell you this now... I really like this band.
Anicone is an onslaught of grunge, punk and all things 90s cleverly bedded in a modern surf punk track. Drawing influence from international innovators in the genre FIDLAR and Cloud Nothings, The PB's sound like half a dozen bands at once whilst remaining uniquely themselves. It's busy without being overwhelming, walking a fine line between unhinged and unrefined whilst managing to stay well within the former in the finest of ways.
Lashed full of hooks, strained vocals and surprisingly clean harmonies, Anticone, musically sweeps you up and throws you at a wall. Beckoning you to come back for a second listen as to figure out what you just heard... Then a third... And a fourth..
You can hear this band playing to a heaving Brissie bar in the dead of a tropical summer and it being "literally the best gig" anyone in the crowd had ever seen. An experience I hope to dive into ASAP.
They're not an easy band to find on Facebook so be sure to click this link.
